【摘要】:ThistestmethoddescribesatestprocedureforevaluatingtheRF-inducedtemperatureriseassociatedwithanMRprocedureinvolvingaspecificfrequencyofRFirradiationofanimplant.Theheatingmeasurementsaremadetwice,oncewiththeimplantandthenrepeatedatthesamelocationwithouttheimplant.ThesetwomeasurementsestimatethelocalSARandthelocaladditionaltemperaturerisewiththeimplant.Ifthereisasignificanttemperatureriseassociatedwiththeimplant,theresultsmaybeusedasaninputtoacomputationalmodelforestimatingtemperatureriseinapatient.ThecombinationofthetestresultsandthecomputationalmodelresultsmaythenbeprovidedtoregulatorybodiesandphysicianstoassessthesafetyofapatientwiththeimplantduringanMRscan.1.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasurementofradiofrequency(RF)inducedheatingonornearapassivemedicalimplantanditssurroundingsduringmagneticresonanceimaging(MRI).1.2ThistestmethodisoneofthoserequiredtodetermineifthepresenceofapassiveimplantmaycauseinjurytothepatientwiththeimplantduringanMRprocedure.Othersafetyissuesthatshouldbeaddressedincludemagneticallyinduceddisplacementforceandtorque.1.3TheamountofRF-inducedtemperatureriseforagivenspecificabsorptionrate(SAR)willdependontheRFfrequency,whichisdependentonthestaticmagneticfieldstrengthoftheMRsystem.Becauseofpossibleadditionalheating,particularlywhenimplantdimensionsapproachesorexceedsonequarterofthewavelengthoftheRFfieldinsidethephantom,conclusionsfrommeasurementsmadeatonestaticmagneticfieldstrengthdonotapplytootherfieldstrengthsandfrequencies.Whilethefocusinthistestmethodison1.5Tor3TeslacylindricalboreMRsystems,theRF-inducedtemperatureriseforanimplantinopenMRsystemscanbeevaluatedbysuitablemodificationofthemethoddescribedherein.1.4Thistestmethodassumesthattestingisdoneondevicesthatwillbeentirelyinsidethebody.Forotherimplantationconditions(forexample,externalfixationdevices,percutaneousneedles,cathetersortethereddevicessuchasablationprobes),modificationsofthistestmethodarenecessary.1.5Thistestmethodappliestowholebodymagneticresonanceequipment,asdefinedinsection2.2.103oftheIECStandard60601-2-33,Ed.2.0,withawholebodyRFtransmitcoilasdefinedinsection2.2.100.TheRFcoilisassumedtohavequadratureexcitation.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
