【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsaredesignedtocomparerelatedmaterialsundercontrolledconditionsandtheirabilitytomaintainagivencompressivestressasafunctionoftime.Aportionofthetorquelossontheboltedflangeisaresultofcreeprelaxation.Torquelosscanalsobecausedbyelongationofthebolts,distortionoftheflanges,andvibration;therefore,theresultsobtainedshouldbecorrelatedwithfieldresults.Thesetestmethodsmaybeusedasaroutinetestwhenagreeduponbetweentheconsumerandtheproducer.Note18212;TestMethodBwasdevelopedusingasbestosgasketmaterialsandatissuancesubstantiatingdatawerenotavailableforothergasketmaterials.FIG.1Relaxometer,TestMethodA1.1Thesetestmethodsprovideameansofmeasuringtheamountofcreeprelaxationofagasketmaterialatapredeterminedtimeafteracompressivestresshasbeenapplied.1.1.1TestMethodACreeprelaxationmeasuredbymeansofacalibratedstraingaugeonabolt.1.1.2TestMethodBCreeprelaxationmeasuredbymeansofacalibratedboltwithdialindicator.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
